Welcome to Bingen, Washington located in the heart of the Columbia River Gorge. Only 60 miles east of Portland, Oregon, the town site was platted in 1892 by Theodor Suksdorf who named that town after Bingen-on-the-Rhine, Germany. It incorporated in 1924.

In an average year, Hood River Fire Department receives approximately 1500 requests for service. Approximately 200 of those are fire related. Anything from structure fires, car fires, chimney fires, false alarms, brush fires, motor vehicle crashes, or other service related requests ( odor investigations etc.).
